Mémoire Poétique

2021

Conceived as a large-scale experiment in imprint, Mémoire Poétique gathers 450 photograms made from flowers collected in Normandy. First presented in Arles — both as urban posters and as an exhibition at Galerie La Volante — these fragile images absorbed the city’s surfaces while simultaneously transforming them.

In Asnières, the public was invited to intervene directly: scratching, inscribing, and leaving their own marks in the dim light of an underground space. Each fragment, later dispersed and taken away, found a new intimate memory through those who carried it further.

The project also materialized as an artist’s book, extending these imprints as layers of memory. Positioned at the threshold of intimate gesture and collective archaeology, Mémoire Poétique explores how memory sediments in places, bodies, and time. The images become both carriers and palimpsests of lived experience.
